icrs July 26, 2012 Comments Off on WHO IS BEHIND CHRISTIAN STORE WEEK?

Christian Store Week is a cooperative effort facilitated by CBA, the Association for Christian Retail, and the Christian Music Trade Association. It is a volunteer initiative. Christian authors, artists, musicians and their publishing companies have all donated time, royalties, and profits, plus many have given in-kind services to make Christian Store Week happen.

The first event started in 2010 as Christian Store Day to help support relief efforts in the wake of the devastating Haiti earthquake. Last year it expanded to a week as some retailers wanted to create more events and activities.

Local Christian stores create their own local initiatives to help community food pantries, church outreach ministries, and other service agencies.

Christian stores are local community resources for Bibles and faith-based books, music, gifts and specialty items, church supplies, family-friendly DVDs, and other materials and resources that reflect Christian life, learning, and outreach.

World Vision was selected as a partner ministry because of its proven record of helping children and families in the U.S. and around the globe.
